UPDATE - May 22, 2010: Hockey Edmonton and EFCL (Edmonton Federation of Community Leagues) came up with a new system to facilitate the mandatory sale of the community league memberships during hockey registration. The objective is to eliminate all the work that the registrars have had to do and ease the strain of the volunteers. Together they have developed a streamlined system as follows.
Hockey Edmonton is to collect a $25 Corporate Rate Membership Fee from EVERY family that registers. St. Matthews will then send a list to EFCL in August and in January and EFCL will be responsible to mail out community league memberships, skate tags etc. at that time. St. Matthew will not be issuing community league membership cards, we are just required to collect the money and send it to EFCL. This Corporate fee is good for soccer / ball registration in the spring of 2011.

REMEMBER TO BRING…

… enough deposit cheques for Mandatory Bingos. You will need 1 cheque for EACH Mandatory Bingo. 4 Bingos are required for the first child registered, and 2 for each additional children.  For example, if you have 2 children registering with SMHSC, you will need to bring 6 cheques for Bingo deposits. REGISTRATIONS WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED WITHOUT BINGO DEPOSIT AND REGISTRATION CHEQUES  - NO EXCEPTIONS. You will be required to write a $200.00 post-dated cheque for each bingo date chosen. This cheque will be returned upon completion of the bingo or cashed at the discretion of the Bingo Coordinator upon the failure to complete your bingo commitment. Please bring your calendar/work schedule so that you can be sure to schedule your Bingos when you are available. There are NO CANCELLATIONS and NO RESCHEDULING for Mandatory Bingos. 

The Bingo Coordinator is NOT responsible for rescheduling your mandatory Bingos.

If you have had a “No Show” for a scheduled Bingo in the past you will only be able to schedule ONE person per Bingo date.

NEW REGISTRANTS will need to bring Alberta Health Care Card and Birth Certificate for your child, as well as 2 items proving residency (ie; a driver's licence and a utility bill or property tax bill).

PAYMENT

• Payment can be made by Debit, Visa, or MasterCard, cash, cheque, and/or bingo chits. Please remember to redeem your older Bingo chits! New chits will only be valid for a period of 18 months from the date of issue.

• All registration fees must be paid in full at the time of registration - post dated cheques will not be accepted.

• Any outstanding fees must be paid in full by cash, credit or debit card before registration for the current hockey season will be accepted.

• NSF cheques are subject to a $25 service charge. NSF registration cheques must be cleared up (in cash) before the beginning of the season. Failure to pay in full will result in your Hockey Player being unable to go onto the ice until the debt is cleared.

• Registrations after August 19, 2010 are subject to a late registration fee of $50 per registration (this does not apply to new Members).

UNDERAGE PLAYERS

As per EMHA: "Underage players must be ranked in the top third of the top team in the higher age category into which they are moving. Player Acceleration Application must be made to the EMHA Registration Committee prior to participating in tryouts, exhibition or league play."

Hockey Players who are planning to attend tryouts for Atom and Peewee Rep Hockey must register and pay in full with KC Hockey

UPDATED:  REFUND POLICY

Refund requests must be submitted in writing to the SMHSC Registrar or the appropriate SMHSC Category Director. All refunds require the SMHSC President’s approval.

Pre-Novice (Initiation):

• Approved requests received prior to November 1 will receive a full refund.

• Approved request received after November 1 and before December 1 will receive a credit toward the next season's registration.

• No refund will be awarded after December 1.

Novice, Atom and PeeWee:

• Registration fees include a $50 non-refundable deposit.

• Approved requests received after the commencement of the hockey program and before November 1 will receive a 50% refund.

• No refund will be awarded after November 1.

Refunds are processed through the SMHSC Treasurer and require 4 - 6 weeks processing time. Registration fees paid by Bingo Chit are subject to the above conditions and will be refunded in Bingo Chit form minus the non-refundable deposit.
